2017 sparqs Student Engagement Awards Winners!

We are delighted to announce the winners of the sparqs Student Engagement Awards 2017! The awards were presented at the end of the sparqs Conference on Thursday 23rd March 2017, in a fantastic end to the day, which recognised and celebrated good practice across Scottish colleges and universities.

A huge well done to all of the shortlisted nominees and many thanks to all who submitted entries.

Category 1: An initiative led by a students’ association in partnership with their university which has made the most impact on the enhancement of the student experience

Winner:

Undertaking an Enhancement-Driven Review of Student Representation ~ University of Stirling Students’ Union and the University of Stirling

Runner-up:

Evolution of Student Partnership Agreement ~ RGU: Union and The Robert Gordon University

Category 2: An initiative led by a students’ association in partnership with their college which has made the most impact on the enhancement of the student experience

Winner:

Be Engaged ~ New College Lanarkshire Students’ Association and New College Lanarkshire

Runner-up:

Learner Engagement Framework and its use in improving the student experience ~ Edinburgh College Students’ Association and Edinburgh College

Category 3: A co-curricular initiative/project (curriculum design/curriculum delivery/assessment) which has had an impact across the college or university

Winner:

Student staff partnership to create an interdisciplinary science skills course in a research intensive university ~ University of Glasgow

Runner-up:

West College Scotland Presents Moya – Minds of Young Artists ~ West College Scotland

Category 4: A student-led initiative across the college or university which demonstrates a clear commitment to equality and diversity and has had an impact across the organisation

Winner:

Levels ~ South Lanarkshire College

Runner-up:

Project Myopia ~ The University of Edinburgh

Category 5: University course rep of the year

Winner:

Kerry Perrie ~ University of Dundee

Runner-up:

Caliana Jakes ~ The Robert Gordon University

Category 6: College course rep of the year

Winner:

Joshua Smith ~ Lews Castle College UHI
