Calling all student reps!

  • Do you have experience as a course/apprentice or other representative role?
  • Will you be a student or apprentice during 2023-24?

....if so, and you would like to earn some income, apply to be a sparqs Associate Trainer to train student representatives during academic year 2023-24!

To be eligible, an applicant needs to be a student or apprentice in the coming academic year 2023-24, and have had experience as an apprentice/course representative or other representative activity. This might be though having experience as a course rep or by being involved in projects or groups that lead to enhancements of the learning experience such as groups seeking to decolonise the curriculum or secure adaptations for particular groups of students e.g. disabled students.

No previous training experience is required, we will provide comprehensive training at our annual, mandatory, residential training event taking place from Tuesday 22nd – Friday 25th August 2023. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of pay and flexible working hours to fit in with your studies.

Key dates:

  • Applications open - Wednesday 22nd March 2023.
  • Deadline for submitting applications - 9.00am on Wednesday 3rd May 2023[applications have now closed].
  • Interviews will be held week commencing 15th May 2023 via Zoom.
  • Mandatory induction day – Thursday 8th June 2023 via Zoom.
  • Mandatory 4-day residential training event - Tuesday 22nd to Friday 25th August 2023 at Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh.
