sparqs Strategic Planning – looking ahead to 2021...

sparqs Trustee Board is pleased to announce the start of a planning process to develop a strategic plan to guide our work until 2021. Since the launch of its last plan in 2013 sparqs has made great strides in promoting student engagement across Scotland and internationally. We look forward to working with sector colleagues over the coming year to help shape a new plan of work that will continue to meet the needs of our members and stakeholders and ensure Scotland is able to use the expertise of its students to shape the very best learning experience for all. The focus of the process will be developing a programme of work for sparqs that continues to meet the needs of colleges, universities and their students’ associations, whilst rising to the challenge of supporting student engagement, regardless of wherever and however students learn.

We have a range of activities organised to ensure our plans are shaped by as wide a range of stakeholders as possible. Our next activity will be a workshop where Trustees, Members, advisory group members and representatives from major college and university committees will have the opportunity to input their ideas. All inputs will help shape a draft plan that will be out for consultation from May to July 2018.  The activities of the process are detailed in the Timeline, which has been updated following the last-minute cancellation of our AGM and Advisory Group meetings in late February/early March due to the extreme weather.  Strategic planning sessions had been scheduled at these meetings, so the cancellations have had a knock-on effect to the process, but we are rescheduling meetings to ensure stakeholders can input as planned.

If you would like to discuss how you can input into this process please contact Eve Lewis, Director.
