In addition to the main sparqs' conference, we once again offered some further opportunities for delegates attending from outside of Scotland, including an International Delegates’ Day on Wednesday 27th March, the day before the main conference, and optional site visits during the same week, to universities, a college and a sector agency.
The opportunities were primarily aimed at international delegates, but those from the rest of the UK were also most welcome to attend.
International Delegates' Day - 27th March 2019
The International Delegates’ Day took place on Wednesday 27th March, the day before the main conference, providing an opportunity to learn about the Scottish context of student engagement, including a visit to the University of Dundee.
There was also some local sightseeing and Scottish hospitality, including a visit to the recently-opened V&A Dundee, a new international design museum which is the centrepiece of the regeneration of Dundee’s historic waterfront.
See the agenda for full details of the day.
We received great feedback about the day from the 20+ guests who joined us on the trip to Dundee. Many thanks to Dundee University Students' Association and University of Dundee for hosting our guests, and to QAA Scotland for their input to the day.
Optional site visits during the week of the conference
In addition to the International Delegates' Day, we also once again arranged some optional site visits to universities, a college and a sector agency during the week of the conference.
The visits allowed people to hear more about Scotland's student engagement and quality processes, as well as enabling visitors to see a bit more of the country! They took place on Monday 25th, Tuesday 26th and Friday 29th March, across Edinburgh, Glasgow, Paisley and Perth.
You can view the site visits schedule for details of the visits, which we hope everyone enjoyed! Many thanks to all those who hosted a visit, these opportunities are hugely valued by our international delegates.
