National Education Officers’ Network meeting

Description

The sparqs' National Education Officers’ Network (NEON) has been set up in response to feedback from student officers who have expressed the need for a national officer network with members from both universities and colleges.  Originally called EON prior to the first meeting, the "National" part was added following discussions at the first meeting on 14th November!

The Education Officers’ Network is designed to be a space for officers to network and work on issues together in a cross-sector capacity. This event is aimed at student officers with education remits from colleges and universities across Scotland.

Sessions at the first meeting included a workshop on a ‘mentally healthy curriculum’ and a group session on sector priorities for the year.

Materials from the day can be viewed below:

The event hashtag, for use on Twitter, was #sparqsEON, but going forward it will be #sparqsNEON.

The event began at 10am and finished at 4pm. Lunch and refreshments were provided and the event was free to attend.

The creation of NEON follows the success of sparqs’ Academic Representation Co-ordinators’ (ARC) Network, a professional network for staff with academic representation co-ordination roles in universities and colleges. Following a similar model to the ARC Network, NEON will meet three times a year at different institutions across Scotland.
