Following eight years of valued support, we recently wished farewell to two of our founding Trustees, Dr Iain Morrison (Dean of Student Experience at UHI) and Audrey Burns (former Chief Executive of University of Stirling Students’ Union). Both Iain and Audrey were invaluable during the process of setting sparqs up as a SCIO (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation), acting as founding Trustees during the initial stages, and continuing to provide advice and expertise in establishing our governance systems and processes. Having each served the maximum of two four-year terms as Trustees, we were sad to say goodbye to them at their final Trustee Board meeting in November 2022.
Both Iain and Audrey have been huge advocates of sparqs over the years, bringing so much insight and support, not only in terms of their governance roles, but in supporting sparqs’ projects, publications/reports, events, conferences and more, not to mention starring roles in a couple of sparqs’ videos!
On behalf of the sparqs team and the rest of the Trustees, we thank them both for their significant and invaluable contributions to sparqs. They will be hugely missed by us all!
