sparqs Course Rep Training update

Over the year so far sparqs Associate Trainers have delivered nearly 100 sessions of Introductory Course Rep Training to 19 institutions, training almost 1000 course reps. 93% of participants found the training valuable and 98% would recommend it to others.

We also run an Institutional Associate Trainer scheme, whereby certain institutions recruit their own team of trainers, supported and trained by sparqs. Three institutions joined the scheme this academic year, which included two colleges for the first time, bringing the total to ten institutions delivering their Course Rep Training via this method.

sparqs has worked in partnership with ENABLE over this academic year to deliver Course Rep Training sessions to students in supported education, with an overwhelming satisfaction rate for the sessions run by sparqs. Many colleges deliver these sessions themselves, via ENABLE Transitions Coordinators trained by sparqs. Many institutions also deliver sparqs Course Rep Training themselves to ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language) students. If you deliver the training yourselves we’d like to hear from you about how well it works.

Recruitment for our team of sparqs Associate Trainers for the academic year 2014-15 is currently open. See our AT recruitment webpage for further details and how to apply. The closing date for applications is Monday 28th April 2014 at 9am.
