sparqs Annual Support Visits

We are currently in the process of contacting universities to arrange this year's sparqs Annual Support Visits (ASVs), so you can expect an email from your sparqs key contact soon, if you've not already heard from us.  The focus of the meeting and the agenda will be discussed and agreed in advance, to ensure the visit is valuable to the institution.

We carry out ASVs as a way of better understanding and meeting the needs of the universities and students' associations that we work with.  We currently undertake formal ASVs with universities only, due to having engaged regularly with colleges throughout the regionalisation process and more recently through our continued national support around the delivery of the Framework for the Development of Strong and Effective College Students’ Associations in Scotland.  We will, of course, look at bringing colleges into the ASV process going forward, as and when appropriate.

The ASVs involve key staff and student officers with an aim to find out more about institutional priorities, challenges and successes over the past year, look to where we can support them in the coming year, highlight our recent work, and identify common themes across the sector.

Both colleges and universities can check who their sparqs contact is in our key contacts list - please feel free to get in touch at any time if you have any queries or wish to discuss how sparqs can support you.
