sparqs Team News!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new sparqs Development Consultant, Lindsay Isaacs, who joined the sparqs team on Monday 14th November 2016. We are equally delighted, that Morven Stewart, who joined us as a temporary Development Consultant earlier in 2016, is staying with us for a further year.

Lindsay joins us from EQUATE Scotland, where she worked as a Project Officer; and Morven continues her role in the sparqs team, having initially started as an Associate Trainer in 2013-14, while studying at Glasgow School of Art.

Most recently, Morven revised our Course Rep Training materials for students with additional support needs and has developed and implemented training for Apprentice Reps. The next step related to this work area will include looking into online Course Rep Training across the sector.  Her other main work areas are around the pupil voice in schools and our wider work to support apprentices, working with both colleges and employers.

Lindsay’s main work areas will include providing support to those involved in our Institutional Associate Trainer scheme, continuing our work around staff development and lead reps, and developing an Equality & Diversity resource pack for students' associations. During her initial weeks in post, she will be involved in the pilot of Annual Support Visits within colleges, a new piece of work for the sparqs team.

Many of you may already have met Morven, either in her Associate Trainer role, or her more recent Development Consultant role, and we know that you will join us in extending a warm welcome to both Morven and Lindsay as and when you meet them.
