We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new sparqs Development Consultant, Stef Black, who will be joining the sparqs team on Monday 20th March 2017. Stef joins us from University of Stirling Students’ Union, where she has worked as a Policy and Research Co-ordinator for the last few years. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience, some of which she will be sharing during her first week in post, co-delivering two presentations at the sparqs conference along with the Students’ Union, as well as helping with our International Delegates’ Day which is being hosted by University of Stirling. So her first week in post will be a busy one to say the least!
Stef’s main work areas will include supporting developments in the role of students in Institution-led Review; supporting and developing the role of school faculty officers in universities, and senior/lead reps in colleges; and supporting developments in Course Rep Training and online training.
We are equally delighted to announce that we have recruited three new members to our Trustee Board – Gillian Plunkett, Jackie Russell and Sabina Strachan.
Gillian is the Student Experience Director at City of Glasgow College, with over 20 years’ experience in the college sector.
Jackie is the Director of Human Resources at The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and has over 20 years of experience in education at HE level. She is a member of Glasgow Colleges Regional Board.
Sabina has recently joined the University of Glasgow in a joint role with Glasgow Life as Research Development Manager. Prior to that she was a Principal Consultant at BOP Consulting, a global research and management consultancy specialising in culture and the creative economy.
We look forward to working with Stef in the staff team, and with Gillian, Jackie and Sabina on the Trustee Board, and are excited about the skills and experience they will all bring to sparqs. We know that sector colleagues will join us in extending a warm welcome to them all.
