We are pleased to announce that the call for proposals for our 2019 conference has been extended for a further week, and the deadline for submissions is now Friday 12th October 2018!
#sparqs19 is taking place on Thursday 28th March 2019 at Surgeons' Hall in Edinburgh. If you would like to contribute to the conference there is now a further week to get your proposals to us!
The theme for the conference is ‘Student Engagement for All’, with proposals invited for presentations, workshops and poster/display sessions, from across Scotland, the rest of the UK and internationally.
Proposals should support one of the following five sub-themes:
- Engaging the diversity of students.
- Student engagement and co-creation of the curriculum.
- Demonstrating impact and addressing institutional and national priorities.
- Engagement throughout the learner journey.
- Building capacity.
See the call for proposals webpage for full details on the sub-themes and proposal submission details.
The closing date for submitting proposals is Friday 12th October 2018 (extended from 5th October).
Wider conference details
See the main conference webpage for further details on the conference itself, including conference fees (and early bid rates) and key dates. Registration for the conference will open in early December 2018.
Student Engagement Awards!
Once again, the conference will end with the sparqs Student Engagement Awards, which were a huge success at our two previous conference. Nominations for the institutional/SA Awards are currently open - see our Awards webpage for all the details. Submissions covering the last couple of years are welcomed.... anything since the last Student Engagement Awards in March 2017. The deadline for submissions is Friday 11th January 2019.
Nominations for Course Rep of the Year will also be invited in January 2019 once we are further into the academic year.
Opportunities for International Delegates
Once again we will be holding a pre-conference International Delegates' Day, the day before the main conference. We will also be arranging optional site visits to institutions and sector agencies, which many international delegates participated in during the week of our 2017 conference. The visits will allow people to hear more about our student engagement and quality processes, whilst seeing a bit more of Scotland! Further details of the International Delegates' Day and the site visits will be advertised in due course.
