sparqs' team news

During April we were sad to bid farewell to two of our Development Consultants, Lindsay Isaacs and Morven Stewart, as they both move on to pastures new. Both will be hugely missed, both personally and professionally!

Lindsay has been a valued member of the team for 2½ years, bringing a huge amount of knowledge with her, not least her equality and diversity expertise, which has been instrumental in developing several key resources for the sector. Lindsay also worked hard to develop our Institutional Associate Trainer scheme and more recently she recruited and managed the sparqs’ Associate Trainer team. Her swansong was the 2019 sparqs’ Conference, which she co-ordinated with skill and ease, going out on a high!

Morven was a previous sparqs’ Associate Trainer, having joined us in 2013-14 while studying at Glasgow School of Art. We were delighted when she went on to join the main staff team in 2016, initially to complete a number of projects, including revising our Course Rep Training materials for supported education students and developing and implementing training for Apprentice Reps. Most recently, Morven has been hugely instrumental in developing our pupil voice work in schools, which continues to go from strength to strength!

We wish both Lindsay and Morven good luck for the future! Both will be greatly missed by the team and within the sector.

In light of the changes within the team, we have rejigged our list of institutional contacts – you can view the revised contact list to check who your sparqs’ contact is!  If your contact has changed, your new Development Consultant will be in touch in due course!
