Reminder: sparqs' 2020-21 Course Rep Training is open for bookings!

A reminder that bookings are now open for sparqs Course Rep Training during 2020-21 ....for delivery from week beginning Monday 14th September 2020 onwards.

As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this year's training has been developed in an online format, and is in two parts. The first is a self-study online module, which reps will access via their institution's VLE, and the second part is webinar-based training, delivered by sparqs Associate Trainers via Zoom.

The training is aimed at course reps who have not attended rep training before. It aims to develop confidence in their role, as being a course rep for the first time can be a daunting prospect.

Please note that the online materials are for our Introductory Course Rep Training only. If you would like to book training for apprentices, students with supported education needs or senior phase school pupils at college, please contact Nicola McIntosh, Business Manager - nicola.mcintosh@sparqs.ac.uk. As usual, our materials for postgraduate students and ESOL students, and introductory materials translated into the Gaelic language, are available for institutions to deliver in-house.

All the information you need is on our main CRT webpagePlease read the new booking guidance before arranging your sessions and requesting dates, as the process for booking sessions, registration of reps, and delivery of the training itself, have all changed.

Our team of Associate Trainers will all be newly-trained in time for September, following our annual training event, which takes place from 25th-27th August, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfil their role.  The 2020-21 trainers have a wealth of experience from their studies and course rep activity within their institutions.  Read our article introducing the AT team and linking to their biographies.
