After six years with sparqs, we’re sorry to announce that Megan Brown, Senior Development Consultant, has left the team. Megan finished at the end of October to begin an exciting new role as Quality Enhancement Manager at QAA Scotland. While we are delighted for Megan, we’re extremely sad to lose her; she was hugely valued within sparqs and is a big loss to the team, both personally and professionally.
Megan’s main area of work was supporting students to engage in national policy developments in learning, teaching and quality, most recently the development of Scotland’s Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework and the redevelopment of sparqs’ Student Learning Experience model. She supported student engagement and partnership in Tertiary Quality Enhancement Review (TQER) and in institution’s quality enhancement activities. Megan also facilitated sparqs’ Tertiary Quality Student Expert Group (TQSEG, known internally as SEG with Meg!) and was the project lead for our annual That’s Quality! training for student officers and students’ association staff. She also facilitated sparqs’ Tertiary Advisory Group (STAG) and had oversight of sparqs’ equality, diversity and inclusion work.
Many of you will know Megan through the wonderful relationships she has made across the sector. Her supportive and knowledgeable approach has been highly valued by so many of you. So many of her projects have led to new and exciting approaches at sparqs and she leaves an impressive legacy behind her.
Megan’s last days with the team were spent at planning days, mixed in with a farewell dinner while the whole team was together. Although we are very sad to lose her, we are delighted that Megan is staying within the sector and we can continue to work with her. We know that friends and colleagues across the sector will all join us in wishing Megan well in her new role. Our loss is most definitely QAA Scotland’s gain!
