sparqs 2026-27 Associate Trainer recruitment is open for applications - deadline 9am, Monday 11th May 2026!

Calling all student reps!

  • Do you have experience as a course/apprentice or other representative role?
  • Will you be a student or apprentice during 2026-27?

....if so, and you would like to earn some income, apply to be a sparqs Associate Trainer to train student representatives during academic year 2026-27!

To be eligible, an applicant needs to be a student or apprentice in the coming academic year 2026-27, and have had experience as an apprentice/course representative or other representative activity.  This might be through having experience as a course rep or by being involved in projects or groups that lead to enhancements of the learning experience such as groups seeking to decolonise the curriculum or secure adaptations for particular groups of students e.g. disabled students.

No previous training experience is required, we will provide comprehensive training at a residential training event taking place from Monday 24th to Thursday 27th August 2026. The role offers a competitive hourly rate of pay and flexible working hours to fit in with your studies.

Here’s what previous trainers have said about the role:

“The AT role is a great job for students because you can fit it around your studies. You receive really good training from sparqs, and you get to meet students from all over Scotland.”

“This experience gave me so much to talk about when I went to job interviews.”

Key dates:

  • Deadline for submitting applications - 9.00am on Monday 11th May 2026.
  • Interviews will be held week commencing 25th May 2026 via Teams.
  • Mandatory induction – Wednesday 17th June 2026, 1.00pm until 3.00pm via Teams.
