Please note that sparqs will be closed from 1st-9th April inclusive, to allow for an Easter leave period for the staff team. We will reopen on Monday 12th April.
While the office is closed, you can leave a message via the website or leave a voicemail on our answerphone (0131 622 6599) and your message will be picked up on 12th April.
As noted in our last batch of news articles, Stef Black is imminently due to begin her maternity leave, her last working day being 31st March. As a result, when we return from the Easter break, some institutions will have a new sparqs' contact - so please see the updated contact list if Stef was previously your contact. We know you will all join us in wishing Stef well as she prepares to welcome her new arrival!
Please note that any bookings (made between 1st-9th April) for our SESN meeting on 15th April or our Student-led Project event on 25th May, will be processed when we return to work on 12th April. Joining instructions for the SESN meeting will also be sent out on 12th April.
During the pandemic, sparqs has always taken steps to safeguard the wellbeing of its staff. To enable staff to take outdoor exercise during daylight hours, during the winter months, we aimed to avoid, as much as possible, scheduling meetings and events during the hours of 12.00pm and 2.00pm. We respectfully asked that colleagues tried to avoid this period when arranging to meet with us. We did, of course, honour commitments to appointments that occured during these hours where this was necessary to accommodate large groups and busy schedules. From Easter 2021, with the nighter lights coming in, this formal arrangement is no longer in place, and we thank colleagues for taking note of this during the winter period.
To all our colleagues in Scotland and around the world, we hope that you, and all those dear to you, are keeping well and navigating safely through what is hopefully the final stretch in this difficult journey through the pandemic.
Our thoughts and best wishes to you all, from the sparqs' team.
