2023 sees 20 years since sparqs was founded, and we are delighted to be celebrating with a special event… and the return of our Student Engagement Awards!
At a time of considerable change in our sector, the voice of students in quality has never been more valued or more important, and we will be celebrating successful student engagement across Scotland through our 2023 Student Engagement Awards (nominations for which have now closed).
There are seven awards categories, aiming to reflect, not just on the last two years’ practice since our 2021 awards, but also, the longer period of sparqs’ existence. We have an award for an outstanding academic rep and one to celebrate staff, and practice in three key themes in student engagement of sustainability, diversity and digital.
We developed nine top tips on how to work with staff and student colleagues on submissions, which we hope people found useful.
Submissions closed at 10.00am on Friday 30th June and we thank everyone for all the fantastic nominations! All of the entries will soon be judged by an independent panel comprised of members of our Joint Advisory Group, and we will announce the shortlists around mid-August.
A winner and runner up in each category will be presented at a special 20th birthday party for sparqs on Thursday 5th October 2023, 6pm until 8pm at DoubleTree SKYbar, Edinburgh.
