PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN ONLINE EVENT
- delegates should register as normal
- joining instructions (including VC details) will be issued prior to the meeting
Our National Education Officers’ Network will have a short, online meeting by Zoom on Thursday 20th August, to allow for an informal catch-up with university education officers. While the network meetings usually involve both college and university officers, this August one is aimed at university officers only, as college officers already have our two-day That's Quality! training in August, and we are mindful of the significant time commitment which that already involves.
The next NEON meeting bringing together both college and university officers, as usual, will take place online on Wednesday 7th October - please all save that date for now (registration will open nearer the time).
At the catch-up on 20th August, there will be a very short update from sparqs with some questions for discussion, but the time will mostly be free for officers to discuss their experiences in the role as the impact of covid-19 continues, and to collectively consider shared issues. Bring your own coffee and cake!
The event hashtag, for use on Twitter, is #sparqsNEON
The event will begin at 11.00am and will finish at 12.30pm. It is free to join, and details of the joining arrangements for Zoom will be circulated in due course to those who register.
As we are not constrained by venue size, there is no limit to the number of participants from institutions. However, we still require registrations so that we know numbers and can keep the event secure. This event is aimed at all student officers from Scottish universities with an education remit.

The meeting will be run using Zoom. You do not need an account to join the meeting and you don’t need to download the app. Simply copy and paste the link you receive in your joining instructions directly into your browser. The link is not available on social media or our website and is sent by email only to those who have registered for the event. To ensure only those who have registered join the meeting, we ask that you do not share the link with anyone. If you are not an authenticated Zoom user (i.e. you don’t have an account) you will be asked to input a password to join the meeting. When you join, you will go to a “waiting room”, a member of sparqs staff will then admit only those who have registered. If the identity of a person is not known, they will not be admitted, so please enter your name on Zoom as the name you registered to attend.
If you want to discuss this meeting further please contact Megan Brown, Development Consultant – firstname.lastname@example.org - 07469 354245.
