PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS AN ONLINE EVENT
- delegates should register as normal
- joining instructions (including VC details) will be issued prior to the meeting
Our Student Engagement Staff Network (SESN) will have a short meeting on Thursday 1st October, by Zoom, to allow for an informal catch-up. The session will begin with a very short update from sparqs on the latest developments and priorities in its work, with some questions to spark discussion. However, the majority of the meeting will be free for practitioners to share their experiences, challenges and successes as we all continue to support student engagement at the start of the new academic year. Bring your own coffee and cake!
The event hashtag, for use on Twitter, is #sparqsSESN
The event will begin at 3.00pm and will finish at 4.30pm. It is free to join, and details of the joining arrangements for Zoom will be circulated in due course to those who register.
As we are not constrained by venue size, there is no limit to the number of participants from institutions. However, we still require delegates to register, so that we know numbers and can keep the event secure. As usual we are specifically inviting staff from institutions or students’ associations in Scotland with student engagement or academic representation responsibilities.
Online meeting security
The meeting will be run using Zoom. You do not need an account to join the meeting and you don’t need to download the app. Simply copy and paste the link you receive in your joining instructions directly into your browser. The link is not available on social media or our website and is sent by email only to those who have registered for the event. To ensure only those who have registered join the meeting, we ask that you do not share the link with anyone. If you are not an authenticated Zoom user (i.e. you don’t have an account) you will be asked to input a password to join the meeting. When you join, you will go to a “waiting room”, a member of sparqs staff will then admit only those who have registered. If the identity of a person is not known, they will not be admitted, so please enter your name on Zoom as the name you registered to attend.
If you want to discuss this meeting further please contact Simon Varwell, Senior Development Consultant – firstname.lastname@example.org or 07815 938966.
