National Education Officers’ Network meeting

Description

A meeting of our National Education Officers’ Network (NEON) took place on Tuesday 24th November 2020.

The network was set up in response to feedback from student officers who expressed the need for a national officer network with members from both universities and colleges. It is designed to be a space for officers to network and work on issues together in a cross-sector capacity. The network events are aimed at student officers with education remits from colleges and universities across Scotland.

This meeting of NEON focused on two key sector projects:

  • The Scottish Funding Council review and gathering student officer views on the future of Scottish Further and Higher Education.
  • Advance HE and QAA’s ‘Developing an Anti-Racist Curricula’ project.

These are two significant projects for the sector for the upcoming academic year, with the potential for far-reaching and long-lasting impacts on the sector. This event was an opportunity for student officers to influence the direction of these projects and to hear how they can get more involved with these initiatives over the next year.
