Description
The next sparqs’ National Education Officers’ Network (NEON) meeting took place on Thursday 18th March.
NEON was set up in response to feedback from student officers who expressed the need for a national officer network with members from both universities and colleges. It is designed to be a space for officers with an education remit to network and work on issues together in a cross-sector capacity. The meetings are currently more regular while the pandemic is still ongoing.
This NEON event covered:
- An update on the SFC Review and an opportunity to feed into the digital workstream.
- How to utilise Student Partnership Agreements during the pandemic.
- An overview of our officer induction resources.

The agenda items are significant areas for the sector for the upcoming academic year and beyond, with the potential for far-reaching and long-lasting impacts on the sector. This event provided an opportunity for student officers to influence the direction of these projects and to hear how they can get more involved with these initiatives over the next year.

The event took place by video-conference from 10.00am until 1.00pm and was free to attend.

Online meeting security
The meeting took place online via Zoom, with the following security measures:
Simply copy and paste the link you receive in your joining instructions directly into your browser. The link is not available on social media or our website and is sent by email only to those who have registered for the event. To ensure only those who have registered join the meeting, we ask that you do not share the link with anyone. You will be asked to input a password to join the meeting. When you join, you will go to a “waiting room”, a member of sparqs staff will then admit only those who have registered. If the identity of a person is not known, they will not be admitted, so please enter your name as the name you registered to attend.
