Description
Our 20th birthday celebration event will reflect on and celebrate the progress Scotland has made over the last 20 years in student engagement. The invitation extends to those who have been involved in the work of sparqs and student engagement, both in the past and currently, including those who have been shortlisted for our 2023 Student Engagement Awards!
This free event will bring together those who have shaped, and continue to shape, student engagement and sparqs' work over the years. A highlight of the evening will be presenting the winners of our Student Engagement Awards 2023. The awards acknowledge the last 20 years and challenges of the pandemic, and will reflect on developments in student engagement and partnership, not only in the past two years, but also across the two decades of sparqs’ existence, since our creation in 2003.

Registrations
If we receive large numbers of registrations from an institution and capacity is reached, we may need to get in touch to ask institutions to prioritise their attendee list, to ensure every institution is able to attend.
We had hoped to send out an email advertising the event to past staff and colleagues no longer within the sector. However, it has proved difficult to track people down, so if any such former staff and colleagues are interested in attending, please do register, as we'd love you to join us!
Please register by the end of Wednesday 27th September 2023, to allow us to finalise numbers with the venue.
Timings
Welcome drinks and canapes will be served on arrival between 6.00pm and 6.30pm. There is a bar on site where you can purchase further drinks throughout the evening until the party concludes at 8.00pm.

As you may know, prior to the evening celebration event, there is a 'Planning for the year ahead' meeting during the afternoon, with members from our Joint Advisory Group, National Engagement Officers Network (NEON) and Student Engagement Staff Network (SESN). There is a separate registration page for the afternoon planning meeting, with options to indicate whether or not you are staying on afterwards for the 20th birthday event. JAG/SESN/NEON members attending the joint planning meeting in the afternoon should register via that separate link only.
