Description
Our first meeting of sparqs’ National Education Officers’ Network (NEON) for 2025-26 took place on Tuesday 28th October.
NEON is designed to be a space for student officers with education remits from colleges and universities across Scotland, to receive additional training and development opportunities, including networking and discussing issues together in a cross-institutional capacity.
This session had a particular focus on supporting student officers to participate in the Self Evaluation and Action Plan (SEAP) mechanism within the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF).

Timings and practical details
The event ran from 10.00am to 1.00pm, with registration from 10.00am. It was free to attend and took place online via Teams – joining instructions were sent out to delegates who registered.
As we were not constrained by venue size, there was no limit to the number of participants from institutions. We still required delegates to register, so we knew numbers and could keep the event secure.
