Bookings are now open for institutions to request sparqs' 2021-22 Course Rep Training ....for delivery from week beginning Monday 20th September 2021 onwards.
As a result of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, this year's training is continuing in an online format, and is again in two parts. The first is a self-study online module, which reps will access via their institution's VLE, and the second part is webinar-based training, delivered by sparqs Associate Trainers via Zoom (where the institution uses sparqs to deliver their training).
Please note that reps should book onto sessions via their students' association or institution, rather than directly via sparqs.
The training is aimed at course reps who have not attended rep training before. It aims to develop confidence in their role, as being a course rep for the first time can be a daunting prospect.
Please note that the online materials are for our Introductory Course Rep Training only. If institutions would like to book training for apprentices, students with supported education needs or senior phase school pupils at college, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your needs. As usual, our materials for postgraduate students and ESOL students, and introductory materials translated into the Gaelic language, are available for institutions to deliver in-house.
All the information that CRT organisers need is on our main CRT webpage. Please read the updated booking guidance before requesting dates. We ask that institutions follow our guidance in order to ensure the sessions are run efficiently and securely. This includes the requirement that institutions invite their reps to register for sessions in advance, and a requirement for a minimum of ten registered reps per session.
Our team of Associate Trainers will all be newly-trained in time for September, following our annual training event, which takes place from 24th-26th August 2021, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfil their role. We are delighted to have six ATs continuing from last year, as well as eight new ATs joining the team for 2021-22. The trainers have a wealth of experience from their studies and course rep activity within their institutions - read our article introducing the 2021-22 team and linking to their biographies.
If institutions have any questions about the Course Rep Training booking process, please get in touch with us at email@example.com.
Any questions about the content of the training or how we can support you to deliver training within your institution, should go to Justin Walker, Development Consultant, on 07880 192722 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Course Reps will be invited to access training via their own institution or students' association - please contact them directly if you have any queries.
