The QUEST for Quality by Students Continues

Led by the European Student Union (ESU) the QUEST project aims to find out how students are involved in quality across Europe, what their views on quality assurance and enhancement are, and how they can be more effectively involved. The project aims to build capacity amongst students to ensure participation in quality is effective and meaningful.

sparqs is uniquely involved in the project as the only organisation in Europe which specifically focuses on involving students in shaping their learning experience.

sparqs ran the first of three student workshops in Edinburgh in July 2011. The workshop included mapping quality systems across Europe, particularly student engagement aspects. Students were also trained on the European context including the European Standards and Guidelines (ESGs) and how these relate to their home states. Participants were given the opportunity to explore how students can be involved at a national level in quality and how this differs across Europe.

Pan-European research is currently underway as part of the project and sparqs will soon be developing the next student workshop which will take place in early 2012.
