Launch of sparqs' Education Officers' Network - first meeting 14th November 2019

We are excited to announce the launch of the new sparqs’ Education Officers’ Network, which will provide an opportunity for officers from colleges and universities across Scotland to discuss and work on key sector issues together.

The first meeting is taking place on Thursday 14th November 2019, at Glasgow Caledonian University.

The network is designed to be a space for officers to network and work on issues together in a cross-sector capacity, aimed at student officers with education remits from colleges and universities across Scotland.

A detailed agenda will follow in due course, but sessions will include a workshop on a ‘mentally healthy curriculum’ and a group session on sector priorities for the year.

The event hashtag, for use on Twitter, is #sparqsEON

The creation of EON follows the success of sparqs’ Academic Representation Co-ordinators’ (ARC) Network, a professional network for staff with academic representation co-ordination roles in universities and colleges.  During our recent strategic planning process, a need was identified for a similar cross-sector network for student officers.

Following a similar model to the ARC network (now called SESN, the November meeting of which is also open to book), EON will meet three times a year at different institutions across Scotland.

See the event booking page to register to attend on 14th November!

We’re really excited to work with everyone to develop the network and look forward to welcoming you all to Glasgow Caledonian University for the first meeting!
