Do you need support with Course Rep Training?

If you are still working out how to deliver training to your reps this year, please don’t hesitate to get in touch if sparqs can be of any help, even if you don’t usually use our training under normal circumstances.

Our introductory Course Rep Training for Scottish institutions has been developed in an online format for 2020-21 and has been fully revised to prepare reps for working in a context in which the student learning experience has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The training is in two parts:

  • Part 1.  A module for self-directed study, built in Articulate to be hosted on institution VLEs as an online course. This module teaches the basic concepts and models for course reps, such as the course rep cycle, the SLE (student learning experience) model, and the ABCD of effective feedback.
  • Part 2.  Slides, activities and training notes for an online workshop, to be led by sparqs’ Associate Trainers or by internal institutional trainers. The workshop includes interactive activities that build on the concepts learned in Part 1 and help reps apply those models to real scenarios.

Through our conversations with colleges and universities so far, we know that many colleagues across the country have been working hard to prepare for recruiting and training course reps this year. However, please do contact us if we can help you in any way.

In the first instance, please get in touch with your sparqs contact to discuss your needs and how we can best support you.
