Student Engagement Awards and Celebrating Success Report 2021

Congratulations to all of our Student Engagement Award-winners and thanks to everyone who joined us on 22nd June for the Awards ceremony, which also included the launch of our report celebrating successful partnerships across the sector during 2020-21!  The report features many of the submissions for the Awards and is a testament to all the amazing work to ensure student engagement across a most difficult year.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to make submissions to the Awards. In what would normally be a year for our internationally renowned biennial conference, the challenges for student engagement and the importance of partnership are at the forefront of our minds as the impact of the pandemic continues. Although we could not hold a conference in 2021 due to the pandemic, we nonetheless wanted to celebrate the successes of our sector, through our online Awards ceremony on Tuesday 22nd June.

Celebrating Successful Partnerships in 2020-21

As noted above, the Awards ceremony was also a chance to showcase the creativity, resilience and dedication of our universities, colleges, students’ associations, agencies, staff and students across Scotland.  Launched during the ceremony, we are pleased to publish our reportCelebrating Successful Partnerships in 2020-21 The report highlights some of the great things our sector has achieved in student engagement, including the winners of our awards.

The 2020-21 academic year has seen so much disruption and upheaval in the learning experience and the lives of staff and students, but throughout there has been a continued and strengthening commitment to partnership between staff and students as the key to recovery and enhancement. From course level to the national level, and on topics as diverse as mental health in the curriculum, alternative assessments and digital learning, staff and students have worked together admirably to enhance learning.
