Our Course Rep Training (CRT) sessions are now underway, so just a reminder to CRT Organisers (Representation Co-ordinators and those with similar remits in colleges and universities across Scotland) to arrange your rep training, if you haven’t already done so.
If you use sparqs to deliver your training, all the information you need is on our main CRT webpage. Please read the booking guidance before arranging your sessions and requesting dates.
CRT delivered by sparqs
This year's Introductory CRT is continuing in an online format, and is again in two parts. The first part is a self-study online module, which we can send to you to host on your own LMS/VLE, and the second part is web-based training, delivered by sparqs Associate Trainers via Zoom. The training is aimed at course reps who have not attended rep training before. It aims to develop confidence in their role, as being a course rep for the first time can be a daunting prospect.
If you would like to host the CRT module, please contact nicola.cameron@sparqs.ac.uk who will help you organise this.
If you would like to book training for apprentices, students with supported education needs or senior phase school pupils at college, please contact us at admin@sparqs.ac.uk to discuss your needs. As usual, our materials for postgraduate students and ESOL students, and introductory materials translated into the Gaelic language, are available for institutions to deliver in-house.
Associate Trainers
Our team of Associate Trainers were trained at our annual training event across 27th–30th August 2024, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to fulfil their role. We are delighted to have 9 ATs continuing from last year, as well as 9 new ATs joining the team for 2024-25. The trainers have a wealth of experience from their studies and course rep activity within their institutions - read their biographies on the staff page of our website.
