sparqs is excited to announce the first of the National Education Officers Network (NEON) meetings for 2024-25, which will take place on Tuesday 10th December 2024, on Zoom, from 11.00am to 12.30pm.
See the event booking page to sign up and save the date in your diary!
NEON is designed to be a space for student officers with education remits from colleges and universities across Scotland, to network and work on issues together in a cross-institutional capacity. Following a review of the scope and purpose of the network, the 2024-25 meetings will build on the training provided by sparqs during our That’s Quality! event in July and August 2024, by strengthening student officers’ understanding on the new Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF) and by preparing them to engage with the process.
The topic of discussion of the first meeting will focus on the engagement of student officers in developing the Self-Evaluation and Action Plan (SEAP), a requirement of the TQEF (both the submission due on 2nd December 2024 as well as the ongoing development of future SEAP submissions).
Future meeting dates will be published in the next month, and we are planning on running the last NEON for 2024-25 in person, as a joint event with the Student Engagement Staff Network (SESN) and the Joint Advisory Group (JAG), so make sure you sign up to the NEON JiscMail (https://jiscmail.ac.uk/sparqsneon) to keep up to date with further communications. The JiscMail is also a great way to keep in touch with sabbatical officers in other Scottish students’ associations.
