Induction Resource for Academic Representation Co-ordinators

A reminder about our Induction guide for Academic Representation Co-ordinators, most recently updated in May 2025. It contains helpful information for any new students’ association or institution staff member with a student engagement or academic representation role.  We do periodical reminders throughout the year, to flag the resource to any newly-appointed staff to whom it will be useful.

No matter the new staff member’s prior experience or knowledge, the guide contains helpful context, resources, and reflective activities to support their induction. In this newest update, we have added introductory information and activities related to the Student Learning Experience model and Scotland’s Ambition for Student Partnership. New guidance on the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework has also been added to the guide, as well as a timeline of key events and activities for student engagement staff.

We are eager to welcome new student engagement staff in students’ associations and institutions, so please do reach out to your sparqs key contact for additional support during new staff induction.

If you have any queries or feedback about the resource, please get in touch with Chase Greenfield, Development Consultant – chase.greenfield@sparqs.ac.uk.
