Student Guide to Institutional Liaison Meetings - sparqs

view

This resource is designed to help student officers and students' association staff prepare for Institutional Liaison Meetings (ILMs) with confidence.  ILMs are part of Annual Quality Engagements (AQE) which are one of the mechanisms of the Tertiary Quality Enhancement Framework (TQEF). ILMs offer an important opportunity for students to influence discussions about quality, enhancement and the student experience.

The guide explains what ILMs are, how to prepare effectively, what to expect during meetings, and how to use student feedback, data and evidence to make a meaningful contribution. It also highlights the role students play as key partners in TQEF.

Throughout the guidance, you'll find links to Scotland's Ambition for Student Partnership, helping students and institutions reflect on how partnership is being put into practice and where opportunities for improvement exist.

Whether you're attending your first ILM or looking to strengthen your impact, this practical resource will help you feel informed, confident and ready to represent the student voice.

For further information on Institutional Liaison Meetings and the wider TQEF, please see our Quality Arrangements webpage and the SFC’s TQEF webpage.
